Just heard this on the news as a general interest story. Yjis woman is 25 yrs old and became a grandma at age 23, according to the story. I thought it sounded really bizarre and wanted to see what the concensus of the QB is on this. Ladies, what do you think?

That is sad to me but maybe it is a different culture or something. Still....it just doesn't seem that a young girl would be even physically ready for a child at 11 years old :(

What a hard culture, with their childhood cut so short. I agree that bearing children at that age isn't good for either the mother or the child.

It is sad but if they continue having children every 12 years or so in like 25 years they could have a 6 generation photo. That would put her mom at 65. They could probably set another world record. Although I would never want to have kids that young or my son having children when he is 11. But I think it would be pretty interesting to be able to see my great great great grandma or my great great great grandchild.

It's "normal" in the Roma culture for these little girls to be married very young. They start having babies almost immediately.

It's awfully sad, because they are not yet physically ready to bear children,...much less emotionally.

I don't know if it's that unusual for girls to become mothers so young in most 'underdeveloped' countries. you would think the life expectancy is shorter because of enviroment, nutrition health care etc, so younger is perfered ( or just a bunch of dirty old men..).. and when menstruation begins 10 or 11 yrs old... the body's ready..
