My 14 year old Dog has Cushings
#1
Has anyone had to deal with Cushings in a dog before. The traditional treatment is expensive and dangerous. And its not cureable, but it is treatable.
I have been looking for a holistic or non-traditional treatment that might help is some way. I have come up with a couple, but am very leary. Its hard to know what to do. Has anyone had to deal with this before?

There are a couple of Canine Cushings Yahoo support groups. You might want to check them out. Go to Yahoo, then find "Groups" and put Canine Cushings in the search box.
You usually have to subscribe to these things - more or less like you did to get on the QB.
PM me if you have trouble finding it.

I'm sorry. My 12 year old Cattle Dog went into kidney failure not long after developing Cushings. We didn't even get a chance to start treatments before we lost her.
I hope you find what you are looking for and your dog has a happy life for many more years

My dalmatian had it and the Dr. refused to treat because he said the treatment was worse than the disease. A friend who is a vet said she would have treated the dog. So I just don't know. Nicky lived 3 happy years after his diagnosis with only treating symptoms. He was incontinent and we used adult diapers and a doggie diaper cover.
I wish you and your dog well.
