I found different kind of pads for my templets. These are great because they are so thin and won't cause my templets to wobble because of the thickness

I got velour pads, 56 per pack for a buck.
Clear protective pads, 20 per pack for a buck. I have some of these that are thick and it causes problems when cutting.
cork pads, 36 per pack for a buck. I have not tried the cork pads but for a dollar it's worth a try.

I like the clear ones seem to "grip" and not slip like the felt ones do.

Yeah I like the clear ones. I've used them on a glass that we had cut the same size as a little table my DH made. Never thought to use them on templates. A+ on this one.
