Growing in bags? Are they feed bags- God, cat, whatever, sort of plastic lined? Do you have drain holes in bottom. I grow herbs in washtubs ( parsley and basil), and grape and cherry tomatoes in large planters on deck -- ready pickins for snacks! But all else goes in veggie garden

There are big white garbage bags over the paper bags, and they are each in a milk crate. The idea is that when they are ready, you just dump the contents on the ground and pick the potatoes ... dump in garden of course, because that is all great dirt and the paper bag can become compost.

This is my first year doing it this way, so I'll keep everyone posted!

Thank you for sharing. What a lot of work. It looks great! I love it when things start to bloom. We had one of those little guys fall out of a nest when a crow raided a robin's nest. The little guy only had the teeniest winglets and very spindly legs. And it was a drought that year. The little one made it though, although it took weeks.

Love your garden. Keep us posted. As we age, we have given up our 50x50 garden, but I loved it! For two years we have grown greens under cover to try to keep the worms away, tomatoes and peppers and okra. That's all and they are in narrow beds by the house. We do have a 70' back yard and now we have bird feeders there--a huge variety of birds but nothing that the squirrels can get to, thank goodness. Rabbits, chipmunks, and other creatures eat the seeds off the ground. So, though we live in the city, it's like living in the country.

Believe it or not, I live in the suburbs LOL ... I'm just on a corner lot and use every inch of it! Right behind my fence behind the pond is a mall!

Lynnie, if you Google pussy willow, you should find some directions for growing them. We live in a more moderate climate and I enjoy Pussy Willow in the Spring, just not in my yard. (No more room.) I love them as it reminds me of a gentler, nicer time.
