... we share a K-8 school with another small town. (high school is 15 miles away).

...no police dept, just a constable.

...the only stop light in the county is in the next town.

anyone else? I know there are a lot of small town folks here.

The town I'm in now is like your town 15 miles away. I grew up in a town like you live in.

Where I grew up.......

No schools. Everyone from K up rode the bus 15 miles.

1 police officer -- His rule about underage driving was as long as you don't do anything stupid, he won't notice.

Closest gas station or grocery store was 15 miles away

One soda machine in town at the grain elevator.

We don't have a stoplight either.....yet.
We do have a school altogether though and a small grocery store and a couple of gas stations. I am 20 miles from the nearest Walmart but I love it here.

I can remember my brother leaving the house to watch them close up the gas station. Why? because it was the most exciting thing to him in our small down.

We have a church and a post office (PO will close this year) Nearest mall is 60 miles. Dr. is 60 miles. Closest gas is 14 miles. School is 15 miles. Groceries is 25 miles. WalMart is 40 miles. Never hear a plane, train, emergency vehicles. Only "noise" is the river barges. Life is good in my little corner of the world.:)

We don't have a stop light but we do have 1 caution light.
k-12 are all in one school.
Closest city is 16 miles away.
I do not like it. I was a city girl until I got married. I miss the city. It was not a big city but I still loved it.

wow! we have a gas station or a fast food joint or a bar and a shopping center on every other corner. Your corner of the world would be a tad too far from the city for me; but I would love to be able to have less congestion than I do have. And this is a smalllll city. lol
