I am soooo happy to have my first laptop but I need some help! Here I am typing merrily along and suddenly the print enlarges or disappears completely or messages get sent before I'm finished, etc., etc. I know it's because of the sensitive mouse - it's the kind you tap once with your index finger and the clock appears, tap twice with your little finger and thumb and you find yourself staring at your control page - that is if the space between your finger and thumb is more than 1" but less than 3". Etc., etc. Okay, I made up some of this up but hopefully got the point across. The guides that I've seen are written in a code I don't understand - Is there a really simple guide out there in the world? IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN. THE PRINT IS NOW SO SMALL I CAN'T READ IT. OH PLEASE! SOMEONE TAKE PITY AND POINT ME IN A HELPFUL DIRECTION. THANKS

You mean like PCs for Dummies, but for a mouse? I'm not so sure.
I can tell you that if you go into My Computer (or just Computer, if you have Vista), then into Control Panel and click on Mouse, you can change the settings.
Or just click on Help and type in Mouse.

http://www.retrevo.com/samples/Asus-Laptop-manuals.html has user guides. What model is it/
Have you looked in your control panel settings to see if you can regulate it there?

I had the same problem, bought myself a wireless mouse on ebay ($9) and turned off the touchpad. (Mine is a netbook, not a laptop, so smaller, and I kept getting everything jumping about) I also bought a small bean bag backed lap tray for said netbook and mouse and it's much more comfortable. No overheated legs, a surface for the mouse, and a tray that sits at a comfortable angle.
