NEVER IN MY 64 YEARS..................
#1
Never in my 64 years-----------probably 58 spent sewing ----have I had a hand sewing needle snap on me. Just like snapping a match stick. I had the eye end of course. I've not found the point end. I did sweep the floor carefully---dog hair and all--and didn't SEE it. Hopefully it's been swept up.
I was hand sewing the binding on a quilt. Not difficult to pull the thread thru. The needle just SNAPPED in two in my fingers.

Oh, well. Learn something new ------------or do something new-----------every day!

You are stronger than you thought. Did you try using a magnet? I keep a magnet near (on on machine) machine. I like the ones you get a auto parts store. Looks like a small screwdriver in size, but it will extend out about 30".

I agree, a magnet would help. And run it over the quilt also, just in case, both sides.
I have a huge one from my husband's work bench, I use it for dragging over the floor after sewing. I'm always dropping pins, and usually find them with my bare feet, or see a cat patting at one.
