Well, I bought an older model iron at a yard sale today. it looks good and gets hot, but when I turn it off and unplug it, it gets hotter, so I have to set it on the stove eye to cool down. But at least it doesn't turn itself off without permission.

I had that happen last week. i bought a havy iron fo rressing backing. I used it and turned ot odd. Some time later, it was still very warm. Now the off switch is to unplug it. Mine didn't get warmer unplugged. That would concern me.
