Default "and no sewing!"

I went in for an outpatient procedure this week and was put under for less than an hour. When the nurse was giving me instructions to go home, she told me 1) Don't drive today, 2) don't use heavy machinery and 3) no sewing machine!

I hadn't mentioned that I was an avid quilter or that I did sewing of any kind. I thought this was very funny that she said this. I don't suppose they tell their male patients this.....

Probably good advice under the circumstances. Hope all is well and you're back to the sewing machine.

If it was me, they could probably tell from the threads I always seem to have on me!

I needed to find a new doctor and a family member (nurse) recommended a certain one, so I made an appointment with her. At our first appointment, she asked questions about my lifestyle and hobbies. When I said I spend a lot of time with my sewing machine, she shocked me by asking what kind of sewing machine I had. She does some sewing and finds it relaxing ! How about that! Sadly, after 2.5 years, she went to teaching medicine and I was transferred to her successor.

If you're like me, there's usually a few threads hanging off your clothes from your latest projecr, which might have tipped off the doctor.....

I was put under 1/2 way when Ihad a colonoscopy last Wednesday (all good). I remember thinking what I was going to do with one quilt. When it was over the anesthesiologist said, so where can we get a copy of the pattern?
