Default Old iron

I got this iron today at the flea market. I took it apart and will repaint it, should come out sweet!

My uncle remembers when my grandmother used and old iron like that but it had a container for kerosine and it was lit to keep it hot. Just another reason to be glad for modern-day conveniences, like elecricity.

Sweet! Post a picture when you paint it.

I saw an iron similar to this on Fons and Porters...hot coals were put on the inside to heat it

if that iron is as old as it looks, painting may hurt the value of it. Wouldn't it look as nice left as is?

It was very rusted and I got it for decoration anyway.

Will look great once you tizz it up. Would make a great door-stop. Love it when people actually use vintage/antique finds.
