Peanut Butter Quandary
#1
Does peanut butter ever go bad? I've had an "emergency" jar in my desk draw at work for two years; haven't dipped into it for about six months until today. My lunch bagel was crying for something. Smells okay. A little oil that needs to be re-mixed into it. Tasted okay. (If you don't hear from me again, I answered my own question! :? )
Any peanut butter officianados out there?

Does peanut butter go bad?
It can, but it would have to have some contaminate added. Peanut butter has a natural bacteria fighter in it that keeps it from spoiling. The only thing that happens is it may seperate, the jar will look like an oily paint. Thats all you need to do is stir it. Peanut butter has a very long shelf life.

Oh good! Thanks for the info. So, if my I can't feel my toes, I'm going to be okay?
Thanksully, I don't have that allergy! But, I've been reading so many heavy subjects on the Board this week, I thought I'd ask something light hearted. 8-)

Recalculate.... lunch = bagel with rancid PB plus an orange. Will the healthy orange win over the rancid PB? (Forget about the bagel.)
I'm not online during the weekend, so don't worry if I'm silent. I hope. :) :-D :D
