Default Perfect Mother's day Present

Got a new, awesome tiller for the garden!!
This will sure save me a lot of achin in the spring and fall!!!
Happy Day!!

And.... I started planting yesterday. Corn, pole beans, pickle cukes, carrots, radishes, spinach (2nd planting) and head lettuce. Also picked the day's asparagus. I just LOVE this time of year!!

(southern half of the garden with pole bean and pickle cuke fences up)

Today's asparagus haul

What more could you want for Mother's Day? Are you doing a second planting because of frost? I've actually had a covering of ice in the mornings down here between Detroit and Lansing... Have a nice Mother's Day, that asparagus is making my mouth water, such nicer stalks than what I can find in the stores!

Oh my goodness, that's huge. We have a rotary (or roto) tiller but it has to be pushed, or guided. I wish someone would buy it! I'm not gardening anymore.

The second planting of spinach is because the first one was planted out front and this one is the "main" planting in the garden. The first is growing like lil weeds. Believe it or not Suzag, but it's been warmer up here than downstate where you are.

I am just tickled pink with my Mother's day present!! My hubby sure knows how to win the heart of a Gardening-a-holic.

When I was a little kid we lived in Big Rapids, Mi. My mom found a patch of wild asparagus and we ate off it as long as it lasted. We also went out to pick morels. This was in 1945. We lived close to the river. Maybe the muskegon? I don't remember. We also used to go to a place called Clear Lake. Michigan is a beautiful state.

Now that's a present after my own heart!!

My hubby knows he can walk right past the perfume and jewelry counters and straight to the power tools at Sears to shop for me.

I am so not a girl.

LOL same here!

Have you ever heard that saying (I sooo want to put it on a shirt one day)...

~They say that a real woman has a spotless house, is tidied up when her husband comes home, with supper on the table and keeps the kids clean at all times...... OMG! I just realized I'm a man!!~
