Cool Arizonian in cold Mich/Ohio/Ind

It appears that our blood has thinned out living in Arizona... We are visiting relatives and friends in the Mid-west and we are sure cold... Wednesday we visited Green Bay, Wisc. - hubby is HUGH Packer fan.. too tour and etc... He actually thought he was in heaven... silly boy.. It was was pretty day for a tour. We arenow heading back from Michigan to see his brother in Logansport, In..a sister-in-law in Lafayette, In and then to Bloomington, IL
another brother and friends before heading back to Sunny warm Arizona..we areenjoying the green and looking forward to possibly see fall colors on was back home the last week of September..Wonder if those that live here notice the beauty as we do. Have a full weekend all... enjoy your projects... I am also having withdrawal.... LOL

I felt the same way while visiting my kids in Oklahoma. It was hot and humid, I missed my cool dry weather of Central Oregon. While it was near 80 degrees at my daughter's house, it was around 50 at my house in Oregon.

It's nice to visit places but it sure is great to get back home!!

I am heading to my daughter's home in Erie PA Sept 29 to Oct 10. I am NOT looking forward to the colder weather. I am flying so wondering...do I take a coat on the plane with me? Should I wear pants or capris on the plane? OOH I love Arizona's weather.

Having lived in Az I got so used to the southwest beauty that I had really forgotten how pretty the midwest is. However I do wish I was back in Az loved it there.

Hey Tuscon Quilter,
I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm originally from Erie PA (we call it dreary Erie). and dread any trip there except Spring and Fall. Wintrer to cold & to much snow, Summmer to much humidity. Been out west since 1979, would not go back for love nor money.

Perhaps we've met in a previous time or possibly are related. Who knows??? If interested in comparing notes, send me a PM.

It is plenty hot enough for me in the Midwest and yes I do enjoy the beauty here. I would not like Arizona heat. Somewhere cooler would be more to my liking.

Well, I am glad that your DH had the opportunity to tour Lambeau Field in Green Bay. :-) Yes, I am a Packer Backer! I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and have loved Fall as the perfect season. In fact, when I lived in GA and IA, I truly longed for the experience of seeing the flood of color at a specific turn in the highway --- at any season, but especially during the fall. Today, I come across that scene frequently and still am in awe.

Today seemed to be perfect as a fall day. Trees across the lake are starting to turn colors, the temperature was mild and the breeze was perfect for a colorful sailboat to sail back and forth across the lake. We are applying a wood conditioner to our deck to preserve our investment. It was nice to work on this project today.

Happy adventures in your visits and travel back to your home. Thank you for admiring some beauty in this part of our country. Oh yes, a message for DH ---- GO PACK GO!

I think it is beautiful in the midwest every season except winter. I hate winter! I think there has been beauty in most of the places I've visited. The Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains are gorgeous. The Atlantic Ocean is wonderful.

I love winter time.

We live a stones throw from the mountains, it's so quiet here. When it snows you can almost hear it hit the ground.
And talk about beautiful, its almost enchanting.
