a little piece of newspaper or paper towel takes care of that problem. Mine end up in recycling too, but I like to use them at least one more time before they do. Feels less wasteful somehow. I give a lot of seedlings away, so my neighbors and passersby end up recycling most of them ;-)

I use them to store cut out baby quilts. They will usually hold a a small quilt and sometimes a full quilt. I use the lettuce for queen and king. They stack well on a shoe rack. Also store strips, charm cuts in them. makes it easy and cheap to store like colors together.

I would pitch them! I can easily get into a bad habit of keeping used containers because the MIGHT be useful someday. If you ever watch one of those hoarding reality shows, everyone's home is clogged with things they think are valuable and COULD be used for something. Every time I get that urge, I picture a crew shoveling out my home and I get rid of the junk myself!

I would recycle. But I have a lot of clear containers. I do keep the clear peanut butter jars. They're great for a lot of different storage. Notions and buttons and also for freezing.

I also save a few of the larger, clear plastic peanut butter and mayo jars. When I want to send my Navy grandson a goodie package, I put the chocolate covered peanut butter balls (or similar items) in them and he says that works great, and they are lightweight. I seal cookies in Foodsaver bags for mailing and they don't get broken in shipment. I put a Ziploc bag of caramel corn in the bottom of the box. He & his buddies like my pkgs. Never know what I fill in the spaces with.

I don't save that type of containers - just the empty sour cream or whipped topping types to be used when family gets together (or a party) to send leftovers home. Then they can reuse or recycle and no worries about good plasticware being returned.
