Default Printer Problem Fix

I have an older Epson printer - I thought it would be "nice" to have it setting on the desk so I could use up the ink.

It would not work - i kept getting a messages that it did not have all the software, the paper was jamming, etc,

What fixed the problem - I plugged it into a different outlet using a different power strip.

Who would have thought?

Yes, shutting it off and back on makes it re-set itself. They are quirky for sure.

Did that many times. It was the POWER source/outlet that was the problem.

Our t.v. can be a problem sometimes also. We have a "smart t.v." with an exterior sound board. Seems like every since we bought it (about 2 years ago), we frequently have to shut it down so the t.v. can "handshake" (installers terminology) with the soundboard. Technology is not our thing at this time in our lives.

I talked to a computer geek. He agrees printers are not perfected yet. They mass produce them and flood the market with them instead of working out the quirks.

I received an Epson color printer as a gift. Printed out 6 prints and no more ink. Son said cartridge was intentionally small so we paid $30 for 3 more cartridges. Printed 6 and that was it . Calling the company about it today. They need to perfect their cartridges to hold more ink.

I could not live or make quilts without my Epson printer to print patterns from the internet....like yours, an oldie but a goodie. Just wished at times it had a scanner also.

We have always used HP printers, but this last one has me wanted to shoot it where it sits......lol

It hates networking and Windows 10.

I found the "fix" while I was reading a troubleshooting page that I had found.

Although WHY it would be cooperative when plugged into a different power strip that is plugged into a different wall outlet eludes me.
