Well, then, if his logic follows, then you must be a natural born quilter. Do you suppose he was quilt police by marriage?

I did a double on my old Kenny.

CindyA - a DSM is a domestic sewing machine (a regular one!).

Oops, no one told me about this and here I've been quilting all my quilts on a Bernina 440. And believe it or not they are quite nice to look at. If I'd thought to tell my DH this maybe I'd own a LA too.

Well that explains it. Now I know why I have so much trouble. Here I had been trying to do something that just can;t be done. Well at least I know now so I can quit. And I was just thinking I might get good at quilting on my DSM. :-(

I think you give some men ( and women as the case may be) a little information, and they think that's the only way. I'll be willing to bet, like everyone said, that's what his wife told him to justify her long arm machine. Luckily, most of us don't have to depend on those kinds of people for our information and can do what we know works for us !

I use a treadle for quilting when the electric machine is misbehaving, wanted to use my Viking Sapphire 875 and it wasn't being a good girl. She went into the closet for a long time out. The treadle did what I wanted and no attitude. People tell me all the time that I can't possibly quilt on a treadle. :D
