East Coast Storm
How are those of you out east being affected? Please let us know what's going on in your area. Hope you are all safe and with electricity, but it sounds as if power is out in many, many areas.

We are fine. We had high winds but barely any rain. What a relief. My prayers are going out for those that had it a lot worse than my area.

Not me, but my sister, just west of Boston (greater Boston area) lost power around 1PM yesterday afternoon. Fortunately, they have a fire place.

Lots of wind damage to our roof, shingles blown all over the yard, down spouting ripped off, no power, but everyone is safe

Just alot of rain and some wind in Keene, NH.
I've heard other parts of NH are without power. |
While we live several hundred miles away from the center, we are feeling the effects here in the mountains of western North Carolina. We've had high winds and snow and it's supposed to last until tomorrow. I've lived in Fla. most of my life and been through many hurricanes, but never thought I'd see one that causes snow! Just got off the phone with DD in Cincinnati and she's experiencing similar conditions. But we can cope with the slight inconvenience of this- our hearts and prayers are with those in the northeast who are suffering so and will have such a hard road to recovery.

We did very well here. The high tide last night and this morning was actually lower than normal. Its chilly here; around 50 and breezy and it's not supposed to get above 60 all week but we are supposed to have sunshine. My sister lives in WV and I just got a text from her. they got lots of snow and she's without power. We never lost power and I only had a couple of small branches fall from my tree.

We lost power just after 11:00 last night. The automatic whole house generator took over and life is comfy. Lots and lots of rain and wind, but no real damages so I count us lucky as we are just 45 minutes out of Philadelphia.

I livecentral long island, not much damage, were about 12 feet above sealevel here.

We live 30 minutes north of Baltimore right on the Chesapeake Bay on Aberdeen Proving Ground (an Army base). We were very lucky despite the crazy winds and rain we experienced through the night. We never lost power and all the trees around our house stayed put. We are right on the water but on a hill so despite the water rising, it is still far away from the house. No damage to report except for a small leak in the family room ceiling. After seeing the pictures of NYC and New Jersey, I consider myself more than lucky!
