finishing up the last seam on the t-shirt quilt. Then will square it up and get it ready to be quilted. I believe on the other 2 t-shirt quilts I have to do I will make them all the same size squares to make it easier on me. These 2 are for the same man so I don't need to be too fancy. Most of them are black shirts, and he has lots of leather in his house so I am gonna use a marbled brown that looks like leather and not sure about the back.

Yipee!!! It warmed up and all the ice melted! I was able to go and weigh in today. Down another 2.2 lbs. All that's left of the flu is a little coughing. Still tired, but able to get around and cook today. Got a big pot of chili on the stove for hubby. He'll appreciate that after working outside in the cold all day. He was so pitiful yesterday. He came home, wet, cold and tired. He works for our local utility company and he's out in the weather all day. I had his supper ready and a big pot of hot cocoa warming on the stove. He always tells me..."you're a good woman". haha I try to be. He's very good to me and understands my need to play with the fabric. His motto is..."whatever makes you happy, makes me happy". I also, wanted to say "Thank you" to all who have encouraged me through this flu mess.

wow, congrats on your 2.2 pounds! sorry the way it came off.
You and your hubby sound well matched, mutually considerate and appreciative. :)

the marbled brown sound great with the black. He's sure to really like it.

The top is finally finished. I had to do some unsewing on it as I but the to halves together wrong. UGH but I got it finished. Sent the person it was for a picture and asked what she wanted for the backing. Her response was turquoise microfiber. I am not sure if that will work for the quilt or not. need to do some research on that one. BUt it is a finished top. SO now to get the backing for it. Almost there.

I've been sewing since I was ten and i am not sure what microfiber is.
Hope it's not hard to sew through.

you see alot of the microfibre on furniture, it is also 100 % poly and some sports clothing is made from it. I talked to them and told them I usually us 100% cotton can get it in the color she wants but the microfibe/microsuede may not be a good choice for the backing. I think they will be okay with it if I have to use the cotton instead. they want it to be durable is all. so I will get wide backing instead of piecing it together for added strength. ALso suggested flannel. It is already heavy.

Cindy, I would think that if you use flannel or microfiber for the backing you probably don't want to use batting.
My daughter's water just broke!

Now for the wait for when the baby decides to show his/her head. Keep us posted

Pam congratulations. I assume the baby has decided to make an appearance by now. Grandbabies are so fun. I have my second one due in April. Working on a quilt for him right now.
Cindy congrats on getting the t-shirt quilt finished. As I have said , not a fan of making them myself. I hope to get the rest of all the small pieces on the applique baby quilt today so I can set it aside and work on the quilt I am making for my nephew. I was stuck on it and finally figured out how to do it. Gotta get that one finished so I can do the next mystery train.
Eating has been ok, not good not too bad. Curious what my loss will be at the end of the month. I think I am down a little. My pants are a little looser:-)

No baby yet. They started her on pitocin at 5 am. Said it might be late afternoon or evening before the baby arrives. Contractions are 2 minutes apart. I can't believe I will finally get to know the sex of this baby! And hold it!
