I Was Just Wondering.....

What are your favorite sandwiches?

QuiltingNinaSue 03-11-2012 10:35 AM

Peanut butter and jelly. Quick and easy when I plan a quilting day.

Dolphyngyrl 03-11-2012 10:49 AM

This sandwich of the Grilled cheese truck from the food netowrk truck races that has andoille sausage on it, OMG it was sooooo good

Elainequilts 03-11-2012 11:13 AM

Always a reuben.

Juliebelle 03-11-2012 12:15 PM

I love a good Ruben when I go out but at home it is peanut butter and banana, or smoked turkey with pepper jack cheese.

QuiltnNan 03-11-2012 12:18 PM

i love a reuben

luvTooQuilt 03-11-2012 12:20 PM

I have a few:

Grilled cheese..
Peanut butter and my homemade Jam (blackberry, strawberry, Pear)...
Ham and Brie with raspberry sauce...

TanyaL 03-11-2012 12:32 PM

Roast beef poor boy from N'Orleans.

Sandra in Minnesota 03-11-2012 12:33 PM

A BLT with homegrown tomatoes on it!

paulettepoe 03-11-2012 12:45 PM

Oh...has to be the Rueben. after that......good ol' baloney.

DogHouseMom 03-11-2012 02:17 PM

I almost don't care what is in the sandwich ... but it must be made with a hearty crusty bread. After that, the more meats, cheeses, and veggies the merrier.

I make wonderful sandwiches. To me, a sandwich is an art form.

luce321 03-11-2012 02:19 PM

I hate to admit it, but I just love Peanut butter and Jelly.

theoldgraymare 03-11-2012 02:40 PM

Start with a bread that has some BODY to it (no wimpy pre-sliced sandwich stuff, please), add thick slices of homegrown tomato, some avocado, mayo, turkey or chicken (real stuff, not lunch meat), a good cheese, fresh leaf lettuce (no iceberg), and an appetite.

patski 03-11-2012 02:41 PM

Chicago style hot beef wet of course!

ptquilts 03-11-2012 03:18 PM

Grilled cheese with a thin sliced tomato, or chopped chives, grilled right into it.

Oh yes! Make two of those puppies, I am on my way. Lol

sandybuttons 03-11-2012 03:54 PM

Fried egg :)

cathyvv 03-11-2012 04:30 PM

Don't like sandwiches - ate too many stale sandwiches when I went to school!

thimblebug6000 03-11-2012 04:52 PM

My favourite when out and about..... black rye bread....cream cheese....alfalfa sprouts...tomato.... and avacado....mmmmmmm!!!!! (with a tad of sea salt).....

Peckish 03-11-2012 06:02 PM

toasted bagel with plain cream cheese, roast beef, and sliced cucumber.

peanut butter and honey on super-soft white bread.

fried egg on muffin with chipotle mayo.

turkey, pepper jack cheese, sliced pepperoncinis on sourdough (or other crusty bread) with mustard and chipotle mayo.

now I'm hungry, lol.

Lori S 03-11-2012 06:46 PM

Hands down if its on the menu a Rueben ! I never have all the ingredients at home so its almost always a item I get when I am out .

Quiltaddict 03-11-2012 07:18 PM

BLT or French Dip

Wanabee Quiltin 03-11-2012 07:42 PM

I immediately thought of a Reuben. With St. Pat's coming up and all that corned beef, I expect I will be making my favorite sandwich many times next week. Mine is fabulous.

cherrio 03-11-2012 07:44 PM

A BLT is my favorite. never tasted a rueban. like tunafish salad too.

Monroe 03-11-2012 08:10 PM

I ditto the BLT with fresh heirloom tomatoes on hearty home made toasted bread! I'm starting to get gardening fever with this Spring weather. Hope the ground thaws soon.

CraftyCricket 03-11-2012 09:44 PM

Egg salad......Mmmmmmmmm

katigirl 03-11-2012 11:50 PM

assorted sub sandwich with my favorit additions. yum.

orangeroom 03-12-2012 01:25 AM

Hmm, I've got a few; egg salad, turkey sub and french dip. With the turkey sub though, the top bun always has to be hallowed out. That way the lettuce, tomato and cheese can fit inside and I can still get my mouth around it. I've always hallowed the top out. Otherwise, there's no way a lady can take a bite without looking like a pig!

Painiacs 03-12-2012 01:55 AM

Not a big sandwich person but occas like a club or French dip!!

Painiacs 03-12-2012 01:56 AM

I never thought of hollowing out the top piece! Great idea thanks!!!

quilter1 03-12-2012 03:19 AM

If I am out it would be a toasted club, at home a toasted western, can't beat them.

jitkaau 03-12-2012 03:22 AM

Curried egg mixed with tomato sauce (ketchup). Sounds weird but tastes yummy.

Tulip 03-12-2012 03:42 AM

I never met a sandwhich I didn't like! My first is a cucumber, tomato, lettuce on whole wheat with salt and pepper, salad dressing. ummmmmm, can't wait for garden produce.

Shayvian 03-12-2012 03:51 AM

Ditto for me. Grilled cheese is 2nd.

JoyjoyMarie 03-12-2012 04:20 AM

Mama used to make a sandwich I should tell you about - "Potato and onion"- (depression era, you know) It is made with real mayonnaise, cold cooked sliced potato and slices of sweet onion all on white bread. It is not my favorite, but I still eat them once in a while - sort of like potato salad on bread!

Other sandwiches that I currently love -1) BLT on rye with sliced avacado added in, 2) the "bobbie:" bread spread with real mayo, sliced turkey, thin slices of yesterday's dressing and a layer of cranberry sauce; 3) another turkey version - this one starts with spreadable cream cheese on bread topped with a light layer of crushed pineapple, thin sliced onions, lettuce and turkey; 4) my hubby's grilled boca burger - he puts this on the grill, adds swiss or jalapeno jack cheese to melt on top at the proper time, we top with grilled mushroom slices, grilled anaheim peppers, sliced tomato and leaf lettuce, on a whole wheat hamburger bun. It' s a meal.

anita211 03-12-2012 04:49 AM

It has to be a reuben, but I like PB with Miracle Whip and dill pickles slices too.

mjsylvstr 03-12-2012 04:56 AM

I enjoy a reuben with cold slaw rather than sauerkraut or a good Cuban sandwich.....

lillybeck 03-12-2012 05:01 AM

Grilled cheese and tomato, you will not belive how great they are.

maryfrang 03-12-2012 05:36 AM
