Have you given up your land line phone and using your cell phone now as your primary service?
We are thinking about doing this. Wondering what the pros/cons are? Please share. |
I'm giving up mine simply because it will save $30.00 a month.

We gave up our home phone to save $$. I still miss it sometimes!
|
Lots of people are doing that now.

Not yet, but I would like to. Why pay 2 phone bills. The only neg. I can think of is when to cell towers are down. That happens when we have big storms here in In.

no i still have one land line phone. i'm not pleased when the power goes out that my portable lines don't work. but then, who do i call when the power is out? not many people. i'm just old fashioned. i only use my cell phone for car emergencies too....

We gave us ours because we have 2 cell phones and my husband has a work phone as well. I think what I miss most is the clarity - sometimes I feel like the wind is blowing the towers -- and I miss holding it in the crook of my neck while I'm doing something else. The little cell phones drop so easily. I hate wearing an earpiece and my eyesight is getting worse with old age and playing with a cell phone isn't fun when I have to find my reading glasses to look at it. But we're saving money and I guess that counts, right? I'd go back to the corded phones in a flash if I could. Tough keeping up with technology.

Yes and no. We have cells, but we use magic jack for the landline where you pay 20 dollars a year, Love it. no landline bill, only downside is computer has to be on to use it but free lobg distance. Also skype alot online with family(free)

I keep our land line for my vollenteer work. I'm in charge of the Matthews Covered Bridge Festival craft and flea market so I really don't want all of the hundreds of calls I get to be on a cell phone. I would much rather have them contact me when I am home or leave a message. I keep a cheap pay as you go cell phone that only a few people have the number to.
