BARES 11-02-2010 09:24 PM

Does anyone have a suggestion on what is the best kitty litter to use to control oder. It is not necessarily his elimination that stinks so much as I keep it cleaned out, but the litter seems to have a horrible oder after a couple of days. I have used baking soda in it and that hasn't helped. My previous kitty wouldn't use an in door potty and always went outside. I just wonder if I notice it more. It does give me a headache. There is no other place to place his potty. Hope someone can help.

I like Tidy Cat clumping a lot!!!
Either the one with the red label or blue one- both are great and we have 5 cats!! :D
Good luck.

I love Scoop Away-multi-cat. But it sounds like I may try Tidy Cat. :) I shall leave no stone uncovered when it comes to kitty liter!

I love Scoop Away too. Better than any kind I've used over the years.

3 cats here. Tidy cat scoop or arm n hammer scoop. Arm n hammer seems a little better for the strong pee smell

I always changed our cats litter every day,. and this kept the smell to a minimum. Check that the box doesn't have a leak in it, and put newspaper underneath.

We have three Cats...and have tried so many types. We found we like Arm and Hammer, Super Scoop the best for multi cats. Of course we also clean out the boxes each morning. But there is no smell...easy to clean their boxes. I am not gagging...

we use tidy cat for multiple cats (even though we only have one, it seems to control odor better) we also have a covered littler box and the top has filters in it. i'm sure that helps too.

I use Arm and Hammer unscented scoopable and clean it several times a day. My cat is older and has had bladder surgery. I do notice the odor is stronger the longer she holds it .... but who can force a kitty to go? Our kitty potty is in the laundry room which one has to pass through coming in from the carport. With the Arm and Hammer we don't notice an odor. We keep the floor cleaned and wash out the litter pan every little while. Hope this helps.
