wonderful!!
I do charity sales for dog rescue and I overheard the man selling at the stall next to me say to a particularly nasty customer-----I,ve ran out of freebies ,try elsewhere!!

Mayday, that was a great response!!!!

Boy, I will need to remember that one Mayday!

We were going to garage sales yesterday and on our last stop a gentleman picked up a coyote and moon stained glass decoration mounted on a piece of wood. Nothing spectacular, put pretty. I almost picked it up myself because of my business name is Coyote Quilts. The lady wanted 2 bucks for it and he countered with one and she agreed. Then the idiot handed her a 20 dollar bill!!!! That's when she said, 'Now you don't expect me to break that do you?' These idiots always amaze me!

Nope, I'll hold on to the item and donate it or give it away, before I sell it cheaper to them!!

I'm with you Candace !!! WOOOHOOO

There are lots of people out there looking for something for nothing. So they can go around bragging about the low prices they paid for all this wonderful stuff.

yes I agree some customers at yard sales can be very rude

Always seems to be the "older" ladies that do this (and I'm fast becoming one of those gals as I type). I think they do that to try to embarrass you into lowering your prices enough so they think they are getting a bargain - prices in their day were considerably less. I remember agonizing over material at Franks Five and Dime that was 75 cents a yard vs. 50 cents.

I generally don't say something but if they keep yappin' and they get kind of loud, they deserve whatever rude comment you throw their way in return.

These people are out of touch with the real world of fabric. They need to visit some fabric stores. Heck, my own mother thinks fabric over 89 cents a yard is expensive. Sometimes in her mind she still thinks 1955 prices in the 2010 year.

The other day I was in a fabric store where NOTHING was under $10.99 a yard. Beautiful fabric, but I'm having a hard time with that price myself.

I would snap up fabric at $10.99 a yard, where I live, I can barely get anything under $22.00 a metre, and thats only 3" bigger than a yard!

We were just talking about rudeness at yard sales... sad that people want something for nothing. $5.00 a yard is a good deal I think... maybe, MAYBE, they misread and thought it said $10.00 a yard? Here's hoping they aren't really miserable people - just misreaders :)
