I think I will stick with twist-ties, I only have about 3000 in my drawer.

If you used a rubber band to secure the excess bag top below the screw threads it would probably stay in place and you could just pour the item out using the bottle opening.

well around here we would have to fight the cat for the bottle caps! I watched her the other morning....she came sneaking into my room....quiet and stealthy (her name in Ninja for a reason afterall!) Looked to see if I was watching her then jumped up on the desk grabbed a bottlecap I didn't throw away and jumped back down with it in her mouth. Soon she was happily batting it all over the den. When we moved furniture the other week we found tons of them under the couch. Dh collects them for the codes in them....apparently she found his stash!

I made bottle cap coasters and also container to put them in.
The container is made with nut can. You can also use the container lid for pinchshion. See below

I think I'll use this idea for going places in the car. I hate to get out in strange towns just to get a snack, so usually take a small cooler on the front passenger side for drinks. I almost always drive alone, so have only my own tastes to consider, and I have strange tastes in snacks.

Would you mind sharing how you made the coasters?
