OT but it could be a blessing to some people

You know I really hate not having a voice and I mean
that in the LITERAL sense of the word.

Yesterday morning I woke up and had a real bad sore &
scratchy throat. Although at the time I did not know that
I had lost my voice at that time.

It wasn't until about an hour later when one of the cats decided
it was play time and bit me a little to hard and I went to scold
her for that and had no voice in which to scold.

Of course my hubs LOVED it last night that he didn't have to hear
me be my normal "mouthy" self, but then again he hates reading
notes so he was stuck.

Today I can talk a little bit but not much louder than a whisper
hubs called me and when I answered and didn't say anything he
understood that no my voice was not fully back so he sent me text
messages.

Normally my phone doesn't ring that often, but today there has
been 6 calls none of which I could answer.

Now back to my fabric room.

Louise, when I was studying opera eons ago, the pros told us of a simple remedy and it works. Bring filtered water to boiling then turn down. Simmer fresh grated ginger root for about 15 minutes. While still hot mix in a liberal amount of honey -- not that crap in a bear bottle, but real honey. Add lemons. Juice and float some pieces. Sip hot. You can put the rest of it in the frig.

Thanks K I will have to give that a try, but not to soon LOL

Think I will TRY and be NICE to my wonderful hubs and stay silent
for another day or two. Of course that means he has to read my
notes and he hates that.

But my throat is not a sore as yesterday, but and I can at least
swallow now, just no voice.

The guys at work will like that tomorrow, especially the "old man"
Frank LOL I love to bust his chops and tease him (he is 76 yrs old).
Its a long standing joke for us to go at each other and it gives all
the guys a laugh to see me not take any lip from Frankie (I'm the
only female there), but I am still only working 1 day a week.

New rak list

Hi everyone I just sent out a NEW RAK list, please let me know
if I messed up (again) and failed to get your changes added to
the list.

I really tried to make sure I got them as they came in, but some
times my spam filter sends emails to the spam folder when it is not
spam, no matter what kind of filters I set up (or not). Sometimes
I think my email just likes to mess with my brain (which doesn't take
much anyways).

Thanks have a great afternoon/evening.

Louise

I received a most wonderful RAK surprise in the mail from Rachel Moreland. Adorable rooster fabric and a cute book to read. I can't wait to get started on the book. Looks very cute. Will pass it on when I am done with it. Thank you so much Rachel.

Yes indeed I did get a wonderful pkgs from you!Had been a real bad day as grandma's daughter tried to commit suicide and has had usvery upset. Was ready to leave for California but was told to stay put as grandma wanted to be alone to deal with this. Krystna sent two stunning embroidered black shirts one that says quilt or die and the other with a skull and pins and a seam ripper. Bruce was ecstatoc that a shirt was made for him too! We are going to wear this to the guild meeting that we go to at night as our guild has both an AM and PM group but the PM will be more accepting and love seeing this when we man the raffle table. She also sent four really cool lace skulls that she embroidered with mylar and have one project in mind for one and a jar of beach plumb jelly which I am saving for our anniversary next week,

Thank you so much fo the wonderful RAK!

Jeff, so very sorry to hear about your grandmother's daughter. What a pity that life can overwhelm so much that there is the inclination to cut it short.
So glad you liked the shirts -- and that Bruce liked his, too! I got a laugh over the thought of these little shirts scandalizing the AM quilting ladies!
I hope you don't mind if I post images of the designs. I just love them so much!
