I fiddled around with my coffee pot for at least five minutes trying to figure out why it didn't work. Then I decided to put water in it!

Susie Quilter 07-29-2011 05:16 PM

Too funny.

Jingle 07-29-2011 06:00 PM

I find more of these type of things happening much more often than they use to. Just a different way to live. It won't get any better so we must just laugh about it all.

New Quilter 07-29-2011 06:03 PM

Seems like we have all been there at one time or another. Years ago I turned on the burner with my coffee pot empty and not realizing it until I smelled something......the bottom burned out of it and had to replace the burner. :hunf:

auntpiggylpn 07-29-2011 06:06 PM

I put the water in my coffee maker but didn't put the lid down and turned it on. The coffee sprayed everywhere!!!

I was rather thankful that I went out to check. The hotplate was heated up.

gramajo 07-29-2011 06:16 PM

jmabby 07-29-2011 06:29 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one with days like that

Glassquilt 07-29-2011 06:34 PM

:)

charity-crafter 07-29-2011 06:36 PM

We all have those moments...

One day the power was out and I knew I couldn't watch tv, so I went downstairs and set in front of my sewing machine trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn on....duh! If the power is off on the first floor chances are darn good it's off in the basement also.

MadQuilter 07-29-2011 07:37 PM

Carron 07-29-2011 08:20 PM

I think this is a common problem...brain drain...

Stitchit123 07-29-2011 10:17 PM

These things use to only happen on Mondays Now its any day company is on the way -I was vaccuuming this afternoon and it died -fairly new expensive piece of crap-argh- I don't have time for this -So I take the broom to the carpet -Way to much fun-I go get the dust pan once my pile is ready The vac plug was on the floor I should have noticed that when I got the broom - :-o

My dh has learned to just go ahead & make my coffee for me when we're in our RV for the summer. Way too many steps before drinking said coffee, beans in grinder, grinding beans, grounds in the french press, pouring boiling water into fp, pouring creamer in mug, waiting for brewing, brew to mug. I inevitably screw something up!! Bless his heart he knows whats important!

wanda lou 07-30-2011 12:00 AM

sounds like something I would do.

grayma 07-30-2011 01:22 AM

My DH made coffee one morning with the carafe still in the dish drainer. I came out to coffee everywhere! Don't know why the automatic brewing didn't stop when the pot was missing.

S D G 07-30-2011 01:38 AM

Sounds like somthing I would do. Last week I put the coffee in , poured the water in the reserve and turned it on. Then I went on the do other things while waiting, heard coffer running over and couldn't figure out why the noise wasn't right. I didn't put the glass pot under the drain. COFFEE every where. I had a mess to clean up and then start over. With the cost of coffee now, what a waste.

luv2so 07-30-2011 03:00 AM

Sounds like stuff a good friend and I do.

We only tell each other what we do because others would think we've lost it.

plainpat 07-30-2011 03:12 AM

I made coffee, got milk out...so all set, went to get dressed.
Came back in kitchen & no coffee to be found....no coffee pot! Now I knew I'd made coffee, cause the milk was on the counter, ready to use. UH OH....yep it was & the coffee Pot was in the fridge.
I don't tell this to too many ppl,
so keep it under your hat.
