Our youngest son is getting married the end of September. Does anyone have a suggestion for a song for the 2 of us to dance to at the reception? In our neck of the woods, it's traditional for the groom and his mother to dance together for one dance. All I can think of is "Sunrise, Sunset" from Fiddler on the Roof. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How about "Wind beneath my wings"?

It was played at the wedding I went to last month. |
Actually, I do a lot of wedding cakes and there are a lot of good songs for this. I think Boyz 2 Men has a song called "For my Mother" or some such thing. It's really a lovely song.
I was at a wedding once where the Bride & her Dad danced to Bob Seeger's "Like a Rock". Seems like an unusual selection, I know, but the DJ told everyone to "listen carefully to the lyrics" and it really was a perfect choice. If I could remember the lyrics I'd tell you, but you can go online and get them. There's also a lot of good songs from Broadway musicals, and don't forget to check out country music lyrics. You'll find something, and it will be just PERFECT. Congratulations! |

Il Divo has a song I think is perfect. It is called "Mama" from their original album Il Divo. It is the song I would choose if my son were to marry. What an honor to dance with him.
Not only is it a good one for dancing, it is a sweet song about the love of a mother and the sacrifices made to raise a son. Perfect I think. |
My son and I danced to " I hope you Dance " by Leann Womack (?) when he got married in May

My son and his daughter danced to You Are My Sunshine.
