Someone posted on here late in Nov. about crocheting scarves for Special Olympics. So since I like to do that too, I figured I could do a few. So I did a Bakers Dozen. After quilting during the day and this board. I would get ready for bed, watch a little tv and crochet. Hopefully they will email me next year so I can do it again. The colors were picked by Red Heart Yarn, and this is 2011's colors. Each one I made is just a little different then I one I did before it. Just like each of these young adults are all different and special. Thank you for whom ever put in that post. These young adults have a special place in my heart. I used to work with them when I was younger, and it was the best job I've ever had.

Those are beautiful. Wish I had known about it. I love to crochet and would have made a couple. Hopefully I'll find out next year.

They were fun and easy and for a special cause, so I was happy to do it.

Yes this is the site. It covers most states. I live in NM and they didn't have it, so I did SD because I have a lot of Native American friends up there and know a lot of the state has less money than a lot of other states. So there still may be states that need some and you still have time to make some.

Thanks for the info. I just found out that in Ohio I have a few days left before they have to be sent out. I am going out tomorrow to get the yarn, and am going to try to get at least a couple of them done.

That's great, Ohio is actually where I worked with these kids. Cleveland area, but I wanted to do SD this time.

WoW!!! Just to let you know, I ran to Walmart today and got the yarn, found out I have about three days to get them in the mail, so am crocheting furiously when I'm not on here. Again, thanks for all the info, and am glad I can do my part to help!

That's great, every scarf helps. I just wish I was able to be at their games. That would be so rewarding.
