1. All my front pieces were single piece fabrics in the person's favorite item, ie: animal, flower, etc.
2. Used 1/4" foam instead of batting/wadding.
3. Made the length (long edge) 11" to start with. The width according to person size but most started as 9".

What everyone likes best is the extra "flap" where the velcro comes together because they can either leave it resting against shoulder/arm or flip it under for extra lift.

Hope this is helpful :D

Would this work to keep it off my neck? Do I need to move it down to my waiste?

I bought seat belt adjuster in a magazine yrs ago. Carol wright or something. The bottom part hooks. To bottom seat belt then the top strap hooks to bottom! I'll try to find it!!

Sheepskin covers are the ticket. I have one on my side of the car and won 't use the seatbelt without it. It does rub a little but does not make it uncomfortable.

I found it!!!! Go to google seat belt adjuster clip. There are many prices from 3.25 and up. That's what I have and it's great!!

I just made me something to use on mine, as I am very short and felt like I was getting rope burned! My grandson has some little bears that wrap and velcro around his car seat straps, so I made me a grown up one out of flannel and fleece. Think mug rug and fold in three. Slides up and down seat belt to whatever position you need. Have since made one for my mom and her friend.

i had an old car and used a clothes pin too. then changed to a binder clip. then got my van and could lock the seat belt one inch from my chest. loved that. now have a Honda and cant' do that. but don't need the clothes pin either. the belt is adjustable on the side frame of the car, up or down, depending on one's height.
I might suggest a firm pillow for your seat. that will raise you up a bit and might be more comfortable.
oh yes i did make a cover for it too. velcro closing. you can buy them also.

I have used the clip that I got at Walmart and the sheepskin thing. Both work and I like them. But my DH hates them when he is sitting in my seat and moans and complains about them being in his way. He doesn't have the problem. So since he sometimes drives my car and sometimes sits in my passenger seat, I took them off to suit him and I just keep fidgeting with the seat belt AND let him know I removed the thingys to keep him happy when he sometimes uses my car. Can you tell I am venting!??!!?

put them back on. it's your car. anyone who drives someone elses car has to adjust the seat belt, the mirror for backing up and the side mirrors.
