We put in a few flowers (with seed) last year by some humongous limestone rocks. My DH was there a few weeks back and saw a black snake. Now black snakes are good, because they eat rats and such, but still, it IS a SNAKE. So if those flowers re-seeded, that's it. Everything on our property is sand. Maybe I'll plant shells!

We are doing 2- raised garden beds plus several barrels for our chives, green onions. Tomatoes, peppers and regular onions will go into the raised beds. We found some really good Cherry tomatoes that everyone liked and we are doing them again this year. We were disappointed withe the tomatoes from a local nursery a few years ago so we started buying ours at Home Depot and Lowe's. Those are the ones that just grew like weeds last year in our garden with the raised beds. A flower that we do put all the time with our tomatoes is marigolds, we only had one horned worm that was caught early and it met its demise. But we did have several walking stick bugs (as the grands call em) helping keep the bugs to a very minimum.

So far, got garlic in the garden. Pretty soon will be thinking about onions and potatoes then on to green beans, tomatoes, big and little, cucumbers and zucchini and then corn. This will be our first garden in the pacific northwest and we are looking forward to it. Have some ground cherries and some marion berries, plus my fig tree. Just experimenting. There are some fabulous local gardeners that contribute to the farmers market here in GP, but at a price! Looking forward to our own. Oops, forgot bell peppers and jalapenos for spice.

I always have a big veggie garden...with all of the usual things..I also have a small orchard with some fruit trees and bushes...but this year I am trying some new things..mostly perennial vegetables that I can put out in the orchard and have every year..so I will be trying rhodiola, air potato,oca and yacon. I also bought some heirloom bean seeds for drying...I guess I was just looking for something new and different this year!

DH has already plowed up a plot so we can plant a big potatoe, corn & peas garden. The smaller one is going to have tomatoes, onions, peppers, squash, tomatillos, eggplant & what ever else I can think of to plant.lol

I would love to have a nice big garden, but I work 6 days a week. It is enough to water the pots on the deck twice a day.

I do grow several varieties of cherry/grape tomatoes. My son eats them like candy. We also discovered that our dog Oscar loves cherry tomatoes. He was picking them off the plants to eat.

We have raspberries, rhubarb and several fruit trees. Some years we get a bumper harvest of fruit, other years not so much.

I usually have my tomato seeds planted by now so the plants are ready to put out the first of April - but sounds like we will be on heavy water restriction and it's hard to keep a garden alive with watering one day a week. May just do tomatoes in pots.

We will plant a veggie/herb garden again this spring as we have for many years...My dh would always say..."you can't eat grass"....and of course, a few flowers around the house for color, altho most of flowers/bushes here are perenial so they will just pop up by themselves....love it!!!!

We will grow rosellas again to make jam. For those who don't know them they are part of the hibiscus family. Haven't grown any for a couple of years. Hubby alsop has some tomato seed that someone gave him. Hopefully some more salad veges.
