I usually increase my orange juice intake. That's what my mother always had us do. I'm not sure it really works though. Not all our colds seemed to end sooner.
What are your home remedies for a cold? |
hot tea and lemom lots of water and rest
|
Gargle every couple of hours with warm salt water.
|
My friend uses Zicam immediately to prevent it becoming a bad cold.
|
Lots of water, rest and use of niti pot work for us sometimes.
|
Echinacea and Vitamin C. Of course, you really should take echinacea before you are sick. If a cold takes hold, Tylenol Cold seems to help symptoms, but I'd rather ward off the sickness in the first place!

Echinacea and Vitamin C both are good for a cold.

My goal is to never catch one. I use saline nasal drops everyday and haven't had a cold in four years. Try the drops maybe they will clear the cold up before it gets set in. Then use them daily from now on.

I rarely get colds now. Like everyone else, I used to get them all the time. Lucky me, I now get sinus infections instead.
Crazy as it sounds, I use a menthal-liptus type losenge when I feel a sinus infection coming on. For some reason it usually stops the infection. They taste awful, but I'm glad to suffer through the taste for a day or two - beats the heck out of a sinus headache/infection that won't clear without antibiotics. Vitamin C/orange juice doesn't help me at all. It just gives me nasty cankor sores and fever blisters. Guess I'm extremely sensitive to it. Feel better! |
