otherwise known as bleeding in the eye causing swelling of the retina and cloudy vision. I have had two injections of Avastin in the eye and then a laser treatment. It started (first saw doctor) about it in October last year. Wondering if anyone has heard of this and what information you can impart. As usual, I think of the QB immediately when having problems and need help. You are all the greatest friends. I had been on Plavix ( the super blood thinner) following an angioplasty with a stent, and am wondering if this could have caused the bleeding ?

What I read was that it is associated with high blood pressure, which is also common in diabetics, so the diabetes in not necessarily a direct cause. I don't have any experience with this, but want to wish you well. Eye doctors do some amazing and wonderful work these days with lasers. Follow doctor's orders to the letter, and ask the doc, or at least the nurse, if you have any questions - you have a right to know what is going on and what to expect. Your sight is precious. I hope you will have a speedy and full recovery.

My MIL is dealing with that issue right now. She is not diabetic. But has been on Plavix. She's also has Sojgrens Syndroms (sp?) Not sure what is causing this for her. She has had quite a few shots already.
