Default Scanned Embroidery designs

I'm sorta new to machine embroidery and I was wondering if there is a computer program that will convert my scanned document or picture into an embroidery file (like a .dst file)?

You need a program that does digitizing. There are many of them out there with different price ranges. I have 5D Pro and it gives me the ability to do this along with so many other things. Did your machine come with any software at all. There are also lots of sites out there that will do the digitizing for you and some of them seem to have good prices. good luck and be fore warned; embroidery is very addicting.

I agree with romanojg it's very addicting. Talk to your dealer where you got your machine and see what they have that's compatible.

There are several programs out there that will convert a picture file (generally require a jpeg file, not a scanned document) to a stitch file. The 5D ( note that 6D will be presented in SEPT this year, so you may be able to get a better price on 5D Professional) does have a family portrait software that will take the pictures and convert them to stitch files - and they do stitch out pretty well..........Check with the dealer where you purchased your machine - or a Viking or Pfaff dealer for info on 5D or 6D.

Good Luck!!

I use embird and the price is excellent. It does the same thing that the programs that cost thousands does.
