See, now this is why I look forward to this group every morning. Such a versatile bunch we are. Shooting bags...who knew. It does make perfect sense tho. I'll need to ask my husband if he wants one.

Rifles and shotguns are part of life for a farm or rancher family. This is a great idea. I'll ask DH if he wants one. He has a lot of hunting and target practice guns.

[QUOTE=Mad Mexican;7574795]Some shooting bags I made a while back. Not the best. I'm having to relearn sewing lol. I just hate paying prices that some people want.

These are made out of DUCK cloth, 1" mil spec webbing, and filled with polybead so.
Mad Mexican (/QUOTE)

That is a neat, professional job. The ones I slimmed down were filled with ground cork or walnut shells. I have not looked at polybeads. As I recall, they did not have buckles, just a loop at one end for picking up and carrying. The shape of the bags was more like a sausage. Refilling them after sewing is my husbands job. This reminds me that I have to replenish my supplies from Seattle Fabrics.

Nice work. Last year I used duck cloth to make "meat bags" for a friend who hunts. Funny the things we end up making. I used the same webbing to make the draw strings.

I'll try and post the pattern. I don't mind giving the pattern away for free. let me see if I can copy the whole tutorial and paste it here.
Nothing special. I saw these on line and couldn't bring myself to paying $30 plus dollars with shipping.

Nice job! My husband would like to use one of these to sight in his rifle. You should sell the pattern pattern!

I had no idea what a "shooting bag" was either, but no matter, what you have made looks to be very substantial! Did you save a lot of $$$'s? If these are a popular item in your neck of the woods, maybe you could sell some????

Fathers day is coming.....great idea for our hubbys. (I use them as door stops, or to hold the door open on beautiful breezy days.)

You could probably sell them at gun shows all day long.

My husband decided not to get one. He didn't want to pay the price. His birthday is coming up in couple weeks. Great idea.
