I haven't had snow ice cream since I was a kid and mom would send us out for a bowl full of snow. What great times those were...which made the "snowcream" taste even sweeter.
I'd love to make some and I think I've got the snow ingrediant pretty well covered. Can anyone help with the rest of the "recipe"?
Thanks
Mikki

I read about this type of ice cream in a childrens book when I was little... I remember they used PET milk in it, but I don't remember the name of the book, nor have I ever come across a recipe for snow ice cream. I can't wait to see if anyone else has, because I've got 30" inches of available snow covering an entire city to make ice cream from, LOL. It sounded yummy then, and it sounds yummy now!!!

Explosive blessings, abundance and inspiration to you all!

We would sometimes get to add homemade strawberry or raspberry jam on the top of ours. Fresh fruit would be good too :D:D:D

I'm glad that I looked at this one; I was afraid that it might include a pound of butter....

I've been wanting to make it ALL winter and NOT enough snow where I live..:-(
I came up with a new way so the sugar isn't so grainy.......
Can of sweetened Cond. Milk and Can of Evap. milk.......
Mix with the snow till you get the right consistancy of thick cream........
We are expecting snow tomorrow..fingers crossed......

We did something with maple syrup cooked on stove til reached some stage (I was little) then whipped it til turned a different color and then poured on packed snow while hot and would peel off like a soft taffy. We couldn't get enough of it but will try paula-deens recipe that sound good too maybe for super bowl!!

No exact reciepe, but this is my way. Beat one egg nice and fluffy with about 1/2 cup sugar and a teaspoon vanilla. Add a little cold milk, about a cupful. Then start stirring in snow until it is the consistancy you want. Eat right away, but be careful of brain freeze!! Around here it isn't winter until we have at least one bowl of snow cream.

Jack wax. Boiled down maple syryp at soft ball stage, drizzle on a pan of packed snow. After you eat all you want just boil some more and then sugar it off. Mmmmmm spring tonic!!
