Soy Milk....good or bad???
#3
Don't like the taste
If you look hard enough, there isn't anything that is "good" for you. For the most, part soy protein is good for you.
I drink Almond milk instead, can't drink real milk or eat ice cream.

I think the main "bad" thing about it, if you take it that way, is that much of the soy is genetically engineered now. My husband used to drink it and stopped because he read about it and refused to eat or drink anything "engineered". He's also started the Almond milk instead. And no, it's not cheap. But since the rest of the family drinks organic milk, it's similar priced in comparison.

Soy has been consumed by many asian people for a long time with very postive healthy benefits. I think it is like anything, some people can't tolerate dairy, or too much fiber, or fat and some chocolate
I consume a lot of it, I have very little trouble with hot flashes, my cholestrol at my last check up last month was only 189, and it helps me to maintain my weight

For myself, and my daughters, we all get severe migraines and crying spells from soy, i dont know if its the estrogen in it, or the natural msg in it. Yet i know, as Amma says, that many women benefit from the hormones in it.

I thought soy was good and wanted to loose some weight and was making soy shakes with soy powder and it shut one of my kidneys down. My body couldn't take it for whatever reason. Dr said no more and I have done almond milk ever since. I never did sence a kid drinking fresh milk on the farm drink this awful stuff the stores sell. Heated to kill all the bad bacteria the powdered calcium added. Did not sound good to me... I even cook with the almond milk except puddings and you need real milk for that, or they will not get thick... Funny story... If you arn't sure with the soy try the almond milk and the best place to get it is Costco's by the case...
