Default Sweet Dreams Pillowcase

Here is a pillowcase I pieced together from scraps. It is for my DGD's birthday. I recently made her rice bags from the same scraps. She should have sweet dreams with her heated rice bags and her flannel pillowcase.

Lovely! Did you line the inside for the seams in the washing machine times?
I saw a pillowcase recipe today for using strips, when you have the strips assembled to the right size and all pressed the same direction you do a topstitch on the top just a little ways from the seam line. I think I'm getting hooked on making pillowcases
Well done and she will love the rice bag!

You know, I didn't, however I wish I had done that. When I was looking at how nice all the seams were enclosed with the French seaming... It made me realize that those other seams 'might' not hold up.

I am like you, I am hooked on pillowcases now. I am making one for her brother and two male cousins for Christmas. The fabric is space with the planets in bright colors.

The pillowcase looks great - love the patchwork. I would not have thought about the other seams either, KalamaQuilts had a good idea.

Pillowcases are something I may look into for next year's presents!

I have a question. If you use scraps and have seams in all over is that unconfortable on your face? Since I sleep face down. Plus what is a rice bag? Thanks,
