true, even in the hospital system in which i work. they are letting people go, not replacing them, and the number of "managers" keeps getting higher and higher. sad, this. i envision a day when we will be like the third work nations, where you have to bring your own sheets, your own family to care for you, and meals will be prepared by your family on a charcoal grill in the hallways... but there will be lots of managers supervising all of the activity!
