Wow. my whole department went to lunch at our Bosses house. the whole house was decorated for Christmas. every nook and cranny! ladders were needed I'm sure. they even had a small room full of decorated trees. one with all cat decorations! they have 5 cats! huge ones. I'm just wondering where they store all the decorations during the rest of the year! whew. what a lot of work. beautiful though.

Wow -- don't you wish you'd taken a camera? LOL They probably rent a storage unit. I know a woman that decorates that way and that's what she does. LOL

I know someone who works for a "upper-scale" floral designer (I would have said florist, but I was corrected). She does custom arrangements to match curtains, wallpaper, etc. for client homes as well as expensive business reception areas and offices. At the holidays they are hired to go into clients homes and put up all the Christmas decorations and then come back and pack them away. Sometimes they use the existing family decorations, other times they get orders to create entirely new trees with a particular theme, in a certain color, etc., or create mantle swags and garlands for grand staircases. Some people don't do their own unpacking, decorating, and hauling it back to the attic!

My DH's boss (before he retired) has an open house for Christmas which we were "requested" to attend. Pretentious comes to mind when describing it. She has a carol sing-along as part of the activities so I always joked to my DH that we were going so I could sing for his job. Now we just go because we like the company.

My friend does Christmas in a big way and has an entire room in the basement for storing decorations off-season. When she decorates, even the plants have angels in them!
