Can I use my crockpot to re-heat a cooked turkey. Last time we had a turkey, after removing the stuffing we cut it in half & froze one half. Now it's just too hot to use oven, so I was wondering if I can re-heat it on a rack in crockpot.

I think I'd either take the meat off the bone and make cold or hot sandwiches with it, or cut it up and make turkey salad sandwiches. This is good weather for sandwich meals. You could also have a big salad to go with it and a piece of fruit and a cold drink.
Must be time for me to fix something for dinner, here it's nearly 6:30 PM.

I have never had issues with crock pots turning on and off. We use them every weekend for special events indoors and out, summer, winter, spring and fall. I work for a fast food chain, and we do chairity events..and we sell food from them and all the money goes to the event holder. We have to take temps of every item we use there..and if it is not up to temp..guess the Mr Garbage eats well. It has never happened to us in the 9 years I have been doing this. We cook or keep hot..chicken, beef and ham.

The turkey is already cooked, right? I would think you could heat it up in the crock pot if you had moisture in there, as well. For instance, barbecue sauce, thin gravy, etc. But, I've never done it.

It would not be safe to reheat turkey in crockpot as it takes a long time to get up to the safe heating zone. However, I have made http://www.food.com/recipe/crock-pot...razzini-309118 using leftover chicken. Any time I am adding a cold meat (chicken, ground beef) to a crockpot dish I microwave the liquid in my largest dish to boiling and then add the cold meat, stir and microwave again until boiling. Then into the crockpot with the other ingredients. As long as you take turkey off the bone and dice - you can then go quilt for 7 hours before you have to add that spaghetti.
