I and a partner have been doing craft shows for 4-5 years now. We don't make much money but we have learned a few things. We live in a large metropolitan area and have lots of choices of shows. We do 2-3 per year, in the fall, with mostly Christmas and Thanksgiving items. We do kitchen towels (with applique), wall hangings, table runners, occasionally tote bags and other small things that don't require a huge price tag. We only do shows in the "rich" part of town where the customers are looking for unique items and are willing to pay. We are also careful shoppers and buy good quality fabric on sale in shops or online. Good luck.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the others. I really don't think you can make a living selling just quilted items. I have a shop on Etsy and also sell my items wholesale but I could not live on what I make. Perhaps if your town is large enough you could have a gift shop and include some of your handmade items for sale.

Feline Fanatic mentioned long arm quilting and I think that might work. Any time I have taken my quilt to someone, there is a wait to get it back because they are so busy but the machine is very expensive and there would be some learning/training involved.

I wish you well in whatever endeavor you decide to follow.
