Yesterday a lady in my guild warned us about using your remote to lock your car. Criminals have a device that can get your signal and unlock your car when you walk away.

It happened to her and her son (in a different state). She caught them when she came out to her car from the Dr's office before they stold anything.

She said if you lock it from the inside door, they can't get in.

Just thought I'd pass this info on.

According to snopes.com, this is not likely.
More possible with some of the first remote keyless entry systems that had fixed codes, but the newer ones (mid-1990's & later models) use random codes that change every time you use your key fob. Thus, it would be very unlikely for a thief to be able to 'capture' your key code.

If this is true or not I dont know. I would think not BUT with todays tech you never know. Just dont leave anything of value in your car if your in a crowded area. If youmust do what people have been saying for years ...cover things up, put in the trunk, or move to another parking spot.
BUT if your relying on snopes to have the truth your wrong. snopes is a husband & wife team who do nothing more than google search then decide which one is true and post it as fact.
They say its been investigated LOL yeah if you call googling investigating. Sorry but I will use the common sense God gave me and do a bit more than google.

I wouldn't put any stock in what Snopes says is or is not. Snopes is a website that a man and his wife started. They are the only two people that keep it up and they admitted they don't check much of anything out before posting. The site generates lots of ad income for them. This warning was in our newspaper a few weeks ago. If it can be done, it will be done by low lifes.
