According to snopes.com, this is not likely.
More possible with some of the first remote keyless entry systems that had fixed codes, but the newer ones (mid-1990's & later models) use random codes that change every time you use your key fob. Thus, it would be very unlikely for a thief to be able to 'capture' your key code.
