I'm sure some of you people on the east coast don't need to hear this, but we got some much needed rain in Texas. Everything has been dry as a bone and yesterday we got an inch and then again last night another half inch.
My number one dog didn't care much for the lightening and thunder but we sure needed the rain. I got Ruby what is called a 'thunder shirt' and it seemed to help calm her down a little bit during the storm.

We could really use the rain up here in PA as this has been a very dry summer. Hopefully we will get some without wind damage when the hurricane moves up the coast. We have had 55 days in the 90's when we usuually get 3-4.

We, too, finally got some rain in NE Indiana overnight. Not sure how much, but some ditches I went by on way to work were quite full (mind you, there are small). Shhh - don't tell my boss I check in here often during the day

Kathy I laughed when you said your dog wears a thunder shirt--so does mine! He used to freak out with thunder so I put an old t-shirt on him and it really settles him down--he'll actually lie down instead of trying to go behind furniture. I had read about this in pet care book but didn't know anyone else did this, too.
What we won't do for our pets LOL!!

Thunder shirt? please share I have one that goes manic when she hears thunder miles away. And no rain in the lake somerville tx area. I dont thing the rain clouds even go by here anymore just to tease us. It is so bad.
My thoughts and prayers are with the ones facing earl.

Here is the link for ThunderShirt and for a Calming Collar. Ruby wears both. It helps some, but nothing calms her completely, especially during the month of July fireworks time.

I am not affiliated with either company, just a satisfied customer.

Thanks. I am going to have to consider those for Miss Daisy. she is a shaking mess when a storm passes through. I try snuggling with her at night and it's good unless I go to sleep and not hugging as much. she lets me know :-)

I know an old coworker who could use one of those during a thunder storm. When I used to work with her, she would hide in the kitchen where there were no windows during a storm and I would be on my own. ROTFL
