Default What can I make with this?

I purchased a number of yards of "batiks" on sale from an online organization and it came with a number of yards of "batik-like" material. Some of it was gauzy or crinkle material and not flat cotton. (hope that makes sense)

Any idea what I can make with this? I certainly wouldn't feel good about using it in quilts.

If it gauzy like the burlap coloured stuff they use for bows and wreaths, you could do that. It might look good bunched up under the Christmas tree for skirt and bows on the tree. If it is more fabric like, you could use it in clothesline baskets. You could pleat it for surface texture on a tote. If soft enough you could make it into scarfs. Could you tear or cut it into strips to knit or crochet with it?

Tartan, what do you mean a clothesline basket? To hold clothes pins?

Clothesline baskets are made by using cotton clothesline that you wrap fabric around. It is then coiled at the sewing machines as you sew it with a zig zag stitch. If you use the search box on QB you will find some lovely baskets. There should be YouTube videos on how to do it. I use any fabric that isn't suitable for quilting. I made a nice one out of what looked like rayon fabric.

I used my strips/scraps into a rug for my bathroom and one for the kitchen wrapping strips around cotton rope. Try to find a softer rope as the stiff ones do not behave well in the washer. My strips were 1" wide.
