My son is in charge of the garbage. So, today I emptied the can in the kitchen and of course no son to be found. Darn it!!!!!!!Once again I have to take it out. When I get outside ( still mumbling about having to do his job ) I see the garbage cans are all stacked together. :( Now I'm getting madder. I need to put down the garbage and unstack the cans. Grumble grumble. I pull the first can out of the second and boy is it heavy. Did we get rain and it filled up with water???? Oh nooooo........I look in it and there is a possum looking up at me.  I dropped the can, screamed and ran for the house grabbing my grand daughter as I ran by. I went out later and it was still in the can looking scared to death. Boy are they ugly. My son went out tonight and the critter is gone. For good I hope. I can laugh about it now, but from now on my son is taking out the trash. NO MATTER WHAT. :D

we get a lot of them...should be called possum country around here.
They love dog food!
They come up here so often, they don't even run when we come to the door!
My little Bitsy, who is probably all of six or maybe seven pounds, cornered one, and I was on the porch above them. I was so afraid it would bite her, I took the leaf rake and put it between them.
They are some ugly suckers! Grandbaby loves all animals, and we caught one in a live trap. She thought it was cute.
I said, "honey, you may think it looks cute, but they are mean and will bite your finger off, if you try to pet it."
They'd actually do worse than that!
Yes, let your son take out the garbage, mom.

I hate those things. At one time my computer was in the family room. I have a bi-level and right next to the computer desk was a window. So my head was level with the window. One very late night I was on the computer and heard something at the window, i looked up and staring at me was the BIGGEST possum I have ever seen. The window is about 3 ft long and it'd tail was spread across the outside window sill. I screamed jumped up and ran upstairs leaving the computer and lights on. Needless to say I never went down there late at nigth again.

If you get to close and they will play dead you can pick them up by the tail and they just hang there! My mom caught one in a live trap and carried it by the tail to show the neighbors and my dad! LOL Maybe if they had babies they could be mean but they usually just play dead.
