Love the TiVo. And we rarely watch anything live - we wait til later and avoid the commercials. I know the advertisers have to make a living, but, we still shop!

I know; they changed the Good Wife to Sunday nights and I already watch the Diva and Against The Law; so not fair.

My daughter just taught me that the freezone they have is where I can watch most of my missed shows when I'm ready

That's because, if you watch carefully, they don't sync the commercials until the 2nd or 3rd one. Before that the commercials are staggered by the stations/shows to try to catch you surfing and make you switch to the other channel. Clever aren't they?

we record everything pretty much. I hate commercials. Recording has a down side though - I used to get a lot done during commercial breaks - read the paper or a magazine. Without the commercials the show takes less time but I have concentrate on the show more than before. :)

I gave up watching broadcast TV. They kept cancelling shows I liked in midseason even when they had good ratings and replace it with something stupid or a reality show (just as stupid). So, we've since cancelled satellite. Now I just watch finished shows with Netflix streaming or buy the dvds when they come out, although none currently involve shows on broadcast. Other than the news, I don't think I've watched anything current since April. Don't miss it. I get more quilting done.

DITTO !!!! In fact, now I'll DVR the show I want to watch. Channel surf to see what else is on. Then go back to the recording so I don't have to watch commercials!
