Non-quilting project: A Kindle cover!
#1
I received a Kindle for my birthday! I actually had mixed feelings about it. I REALLY love books and the whole book-reading experience. So, this seemed a little too "tech-y" for me. And it's (for me) hard to hold! It is so slim and I am SO clumsy. I was scared to use it. So, I did a little searching online and made a cover for it! I used the tutorial at www.onepearlbutton.com for inspiration, though I took my own measurements and added a layer of batting--extra protection from "Grace" here (a nickname for what I wasn't growing up!).
Now I'm much more comfortable with my Kindle! I am looking forward to using it on vacation in a few weeks...I won't have to pack three or four books. It also helped that I found some favorites to download for free!

Thanks! It was a fun side project from the quilt which has me a little discouraged...I'm going back to it, but I had to put it down for about a week!
Also check out ssgramma's kindle cover. It appears to form a stand for the kindle. I'm going to check out the link she posted. I may have to make another! (after the quilt!)
