On Saturday we had company from out of state. DH wanted to take them out to lunch, so we headed to our favorite restaurant 35 miles from home. Half way there, we heard a thump, the a clunk, the we were free rolling. DH was amazing. He not only stayed calm and in control, he kept us out of a ditch that would have rolled us. We came to a stop just as the front passenger tire went over the ditch. I had to "do the monkey crawl' along the van to get on solid ground. Thankfully no one was hurt, just shook up. We had run over a burner off a stove, which sliced our tire.

We are now very glad we opted for 'roadside assistance' on our insurance. The tow truck cost us nothing. The tire change cost us nothing also. Today we got the repair estimate.

Deep breath here - The repairs to the body, trim, bumper wheel, and tire, would have cost us $1795.98! This has to be the most expensive flat ever! (My pretty shiny black Kia van got a booboo!) :P
