Not sure it was the worst, but was one I never forgot. We had a new baby & no washer & dryer.Christmas was coming & I knew, just knew my husband was getting me a W&D.This was back when ppl washed diapers, so was sorely needed.
So.........He hands me this huge box & what was in it? A card telling me a W&D was coming? No......it was a fur jacket!!!!
I'd never wanted a fur jacket in my life. What was he thinking? Who knows.....
Mom said "don't say a word,or he'll never buy you another gift" LOL

A used punch bowl set from my then step mother in law. My father in law found out and told me to return the used gift back to her and then gave me a $100.00 to go buy myself something.

I think that was the ONLY nice thing he ever did for me.

I got a hair dryer from Costco one year from DH. We had 3 other, functioning hair dryers at the time. I'm not a brat, but needless to say I let him have it. Now, he knows better.

A 5-pound fruitcake from my brother. This was when I was divorced with only a small dog for company, in a state far away from family. Guess he never realized I don't like fruitcake. Or perhaps he was trying to tell me something???

hmmm...there are a few ones that I can think of...but the one from my hubby....two vests..purple poka dots and another one...but red poka dots...ugly....I would put it on...get in the car to go to work and take it off...I did not want to hurt his feelings. He has bought me a few other clothes....I really wish he would not...we do not have the same clothes taste...LOL

I can relate to the clothing gifts, ugly sweater one year, but to top that off, I was given a step ladder. Mind you we were building a house at the time, but it just wasn't what I had in mind.

My husband gave me a weed whacker for Mother's day once. I thought I could get mad or just get even so on Father's day, I gave him a new quilting book. We laughed so hard. We have done this every year since.

When I was a teenager, my mother gave me a shopping bag for Christmas on two different occasions - most definitely not what any teenager wants! I also got a hemmed length of coarse fabric from my MIL one year. Neither DH nor I could figure out what I was supposed to do with it, lol.

Oh yes, I have also been given several pairs of earrings for pierced ears. Just one small problem - my ears aren't pierced!

I think the worst, but badly needed gift was a set of tires for my car. Mind you I was a penniless student at the time. There's just something wrong with a donut shaped wrapped present under the tree that has a note in it saying "the other three are in the garage."
