Default Hello from Alabama

I'm Mary and I have a confession. I love everything about quilting, have soooo many books on the subject, and plenty of fabric. But I have never started a quilt. Yes, I'm scared to start! So, I am trying to get the courage from this site to start. My vow goal is to just get one block going. And if I don't like it, it will be ok! Any tips, or words of encouragement are always welcome.

Welcome from Tuscaloosa area. I look at it as it's only fabric, not the end of the world if I mess up.

Oh you CAN DO IT! I have only made 1 big quilt, a queen size - called a sampler quilt. I have made a few table runners that I love, a baby quilt and I'm on my second baby that has to be done and sent to arrive July 12th. Just start and you will be surprised! You have everything you need, just go do it....have some fun! And by the way welcome from a true Michigander living in Tennessee.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. The youtube videos from the Missouri Star Quilt co. Are good to watch. Start with something small like a pot holder or table runner. It's just fabric and the stores have more so go for it!

Just look at it this way, you are a researcher. I did the same when I started. I guess it was about 2 years of gathering and reading about quilts. Once you start, you will get over the hump and you will love it. Just close your eyes, choose a fabric and go!

Welcome from beautiful western NC. Just start. Just like baking a cake or anything else. It may turn out well or it may not. But the thing to do is START!
